Appearing on the BBC's Politics Show South West this weekend, George Eustice MP welcomed the Government's 'New Homes Bonus' scheme.
The scheme will match a Council's tax revenue for any new property that is built, providing a real incentive for Council's and Communities to build affordable housing in areas where it is desparately needed.
George Eustice said, "It is absolutely right that this Government has scrapped the ludicrous top-down targets for home building imposed by the last Government that simply weren't working. This new scheme will incentivise local councils to provide the affordable housing that is required providing a matched funding source for six years. Councils will be able to decide where this money is spent, and I believe that they are best placed to make these decisions."
