Camborne and Redruth MP, George Eustice, appeared on Radio 4's 'Today Programme' this morning discussing Britain's relationship with the EU.
Commenting in the wake of the Government's decision to opt out of hundreds of EU directives regarding crime and justice, Mr Eustice welcomed the ongoing negotiations on issues such as crime and justice and the CAP.
Questioned about the Conservative Party's long-term stance, Mr Eustice said, "A simple in-out referendum would divide the party - what most Conservatice MPs, and indeed activists, want is a new relationship with the EU - one that sees us remain in the common market, but repatriates many powers. [I would like to see] the next manifesto contain a promise of renegotiation, which should then be put to a referendum."
