George was given a tour of the production line at the hugely popular company who have been making their famous clotted cream for over a hundred years. The visit came at a time when new figures recently released show that the Government’s new Start Up Loans Scheme has helped 80 Cornish entrepreneurs set up their own business.
George is pictured with Nick Rodda, the current Managing Director of the family company which continues to recruit from the local area. The company also exports its clotted cream all over the world, as far away as South-East Asia.
George said: ‘I am delighted to have visited Rodda’s who are a brilliant example of innovative Cornish industry. Rodda’s are an established and much loved company but we must also support those just starting out. I am really pleased that the Government’s Start Up Loans have meant £350,650 lent to 80 budding entrepreneurs because new business also stands for a healthy economy, jobs and growth.’
