To commemorate Armed Forces Day 2011 George took the opportunity to say thank you to all those that are serving in the Armed Forces, their families, veterans and cadet. He attended a county-wide thanksgiving service at St John’s Church in Redruth.
Commenting on this week’s Armed Forces Day George said:
‘Armed Forces Day is a great opportunity for us to show our appreciation for all those who wear the uniform, their families, veterans and cadets. We all owe a huge debt to our brave service personnel who work tirelessly keeping this country safe. I wish those attending a great day out and on behalf of all the people of Cornwall say a big thank you to our amazing Armed Forces.
The Government and the Conservative party are both committed to providing for our troops. In the past year we have already doubled the operational allowance and introduced a pupil premium to help with the education of our forces children. It is with these practical policies that we show our commitment and gratitude to our brave forces.’
