George visited H & A, a successful Cornish recycling company, and was honoured to cut the ribbon for their new Material Recovery Centre at their base on the Cardrew Industrial Estate.
The new facility will handle 30,000 tonnes of commercial materials otherwise destined for landfill. The facility will recover paper, cardboard, plastic, wood, ferrous and non ferrous metals. It will separate organic materials from black bag waste and the residuals from the operation will produce a material that can be converted to ‘refuse derived fuel’ and therefore the facility is targeted to contribute nothing to costly landfill sites by 2014.
The new facility creates 5 new jobs, bringing the total to 15 and it commenced production 3 weeks ago.
