George Eustice MP was pleased to have the opportunity to visit the Moseley industrial narrow gauge tramway, toy and mining museum recently. The privately owned museum collection promotes “education through fun” and is maintained by a committed group of local volunteer enthusiasts.
The museum is free to all visitors, and is open by appointment all year round. Visitors can take a ride on the 24” gauge working industrial tramway, which is unique to Cornwall. To arrange a visit please contact the museum’s founder and proprietor, Colin Saxton, on 01209 211191.
George Eustice said, “I want us to make far more of our industrial heritage which should be part of the tourism offering that this part of Cornwall has to offer and so I was delighted to see the dedication and enthusiasm of the volunteers at the Moseley Museum at Tolgus Mount. We need people with a passion for our industrial heritage to be at the forefront of promoting it and we need to do much more to capitalise on the fact that we have World Heritage Site status. Later this spring I will be organising a summit to explore these issues further.”
