George Eustice MP was pleased to be able to question the Minister of State for Further Education and Skills, John Hayes MP in parliament this morning regarding Cornwall College's bid for capital funding in order to carry out further refurbishment.
Following the successful re-cladding and refurbishment of the Tamar building, the College have bid to the Enhanced Renewal Grant fund to undertake similar work on other buildings.
George suggested that when awarding grants, officials should prioritise those bids that seek to rennovate and refurbish existing buildings rather than to build new ones, the former being much more cost-effective.
Mr Hayes reiterated the Government's committal of £100 million to the new scheme and has agreed to meet with George on Monday to discuss Corwall College's specific bid in more detail.
