In an interview on today's Politics Show, George Eustice defended the Government's prioritisation of deficit reduction and praised the introduction of a new rebate for fuel prices in rural areas. George criticised the Labour MPfor Exeter, Ben Bradshaw's stance as unrealistic, saying, "you can't oppose tax increases and oppose cuts in public spending ... when you're trying to erradicate a £150 billion black hole in the budget". George reiterated his support for future reductions in fuel duty, but maintained that the only way that Governments will be in a position to do this in the medium and long term is to continue addressing the problem of an enormous budget deficit in the short term.
