George visited Treleigh Community Primary School near Redruth, which has received an ‘outstanding’ grade in their recent Ofsted report.
The visit began with a short meeting between George and the Head teacher, Ms Helen Collinge. The School has 210 pupils, whose Year 6 then put George through a rigorous Question Time in which he was asked several interesting questions such as “Are School Trusts a good or bad thing?” and “Can children from disadvantaged backgrounds afford to go to University?” Perhaps the best question was whether George had experienced any bad moments in Parliament!
Following Question Time George awarded prizes at a Celebration Assembly for children who had produced good work in writing, spelling, maths and painting. The Head teacher then showed him around the school, and he visited some mathematics lessons of different ability and age.
George really enjoyed his visit to Treleigh, which has shown itself to be a brilliant school with a bright future.
